Diamond Buying Guide

Choosing the perfect diamond engagement ring can feel overwhelming, especially if you are buying a diamond for the first time. This guide will help you understand the key factors that determine a diamond’s beauty and value.

Diamonds are traditionally evaluated using the Four Cs:

Cut

Cut refers to how well a diamond’s facets interact with light. A well-cut diamond reflects light beautifully, creating the sparkle and brilliance that diamonds are famous for.

Colour

Diamond colour measures how colourless a diamond appears. The scale ranges from D (colourless) to Z (noticeable colour). Many beautiful diamonds fall within the near-colourless range.

Clarity

Clarity refers to the presence of natural inclusions within a diamond. Most inclusions are microscopic and invisible to the naked eye.

Carat

Carat refers to the weight of a diamond. Larger diamonds are rarer and therefore more valuable, but the cut and proportions of a diamond are equally important to its appearance.

At Kings Diamonds, our lab-grown diamonds are carefully selected to provide the perfect balance of brilliance, quality, and value.
