Diamond Guide - What are Lab-Grown Diamonds?

What Are Lab-Grown Diamonds?

Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds created using advanced technology that replicates the natural diamond formation process. They have the same chemical composition, physical structure, and optical brilliance as diamonds formed in the earth.

The only difference between lab-grown and mined diamonds is their origin. While natural diamonds form deep beneath the earth over billions of years, lab-grown diamonds are produced in controlled laboratory environments using high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) or chemical vapour deposition (CVD) methods.

At Kings Diamonds, every lab-grown diamond is independently graded by the International Gemological Institute (IGI) to ensure accuracy in carat weight, colour, clarity, and cut.

Why Choose Lab-Grown Diamonds?

Lab-grown diamonds offer several advantages for modern couples:

• Exceptional brilliance and beauty
• Ethical and conflict-free sourcing
• Environmentally responsible production
• Better value compared to mined diamonds

Because they require fewer natural resources to produce, lab-grown diamonds are an increasingly popular choice for engagement rings and fine jewellery.
